چکیده

This study used a finite element analysis approach employing Plaxis 3D to analyze the stress concentration ratio, critical parameter in geotechnical engineering, examine stresses operating on stone columns and soft soils. also looked at effect of stiffness ratio between column neighboring soil. With same length three different diameters, 0.8 m, 1.0 1.2 or area replacement ratios ranging from 7% 16%, respectively, floating end-bearing were used. The influence soil undrained cohesion, cu 6 kPa 40 kPa, was considered current study. for adjacent soil, end bearing column, all have significant impression performance treating transmission mechanisms enhanced body, according parametric studies. average improved with an φ= 35° raised 2.63 4.71 φ = 50°, 1.41 2.35 16%.

Numerical Analysis of Stress Distribution During Tunneling in Clay Stone Rock

Modern technology has been used to build tunnels in recent years by means of drilling machines (TBM) that were used for civil engineering work in large cities to reduce the harmful effects of spending on the surface of the earth significantly. To build the tunnel, numerical modeling was used on the basis of the finite element method to predict stress behavior during the tunnel construction proc...

Numerical and physical modeling of soft soil slope stabilized with stone columns

There can be many reasons for engineers to place the footings near a slope such as leakage of suitable sites or architectural considerations. One of the approaches to increase the amount of bearing capacity, especially in soft soils, is adding stone columns to the soil. In this research, the behavior of a strip footing placed near a stone column reinforced clayey slope was investigated. For thi...

Three-Dimensional Finite Element Modeling of Stone Column-Improved Soft Saturated Ground

Installing stone columns in the ground is an effective improvement technique to increase the load bearing capacity and reduce the consolidation settlement of the loose or weak cohesive soils. In addition to the increase in the bearing capacity and reduction in the settlement, stone columns can accelerate the dissipation rate of the excess pore water pressure generated by the surcharge, which ex...

Experimental and Numerical Investigation of Reinforced Sand Slope Using Geogird Encased Stone Column

Among all of the slope stability methods, use of stone columns and geosynthetic elements can be a good way for stabilizing. One of the efficient ways in order to reinforce earth slopes is Geogrid Encased Stone Column (GESC). This technique can dramatically increase bearing capacity and decrease settlement rate. The aim of this paper is experimentally to investigate a comparison between the beha...
